Ms. Hazel Kennon was born November 16, 1917 in Charlestown, WV. Her family moved to North Carolina and later to Locust Grove, VA where her father opened Dulin’s Furniture & Hardware Store in Mine Run, August 1932.
Her son, Milton Kennon, continues to own and operate the family store to this day. Ms. Kennon worked at the family store and sold Avon for fifty-four years.
She was also a member of The Presidents Club. Ms. Kennon has two children, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grand-children. She recently celebrated her 102nd birthday surrounded by family and friends. Ms. Kennon has been a resident at Dogwood Village since November 2013.
