Mrs. Mildred Ransom originally hales from the coal mining town of Slabfork, WV. She was one of nine children and grew up to marry her high school sweetheart whom she’d met at a ball game.
Mildred and her husband went on to have three children after she finished her schooling at Beckley College. Mrs. Ransom was a wonderful homemaker and had a knack for writing very beautiful poetry.
Out of all the joy she’s experienced in her life there’s nothing she cherishes more than her children.
