New Resident Spotlight: Victoria “Vickie” Mackenzie
Victoria “Vickie” Mackenzie joined the Dogwood family in August. She has lived in Orange County VA for over 30 years. She has a brother and sister that she enjoys visiting. Vickie graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in Nursing. She is a retired Register Nurse. She enjoys watching CNN daily, working cross word puzzles and attending church. She expressed her greatest accomplishment in life was getting her wonderful education to help others.
New Resident Spotlight: The Maddens
Marjorie “Jean” Madden came to live at Dogwood Senior Living in August. She was born and raised in Rensselaer Indiana. She and her husband have lived in Spotsylvania VA for the last 35 years. She worked in various positions with the US Government. She graduated from Rensselaer High School. She spends her free time playing cards, viewing games shows on television and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is most proud to have raised her children to be successful in life. Stop by and give her a warm welcome.
Byron Madden was raised in Southern Indiana. He has been married to his lovely wife for 65 years. They have four sons. He met the love of his life at a local basketball game. He graduated from Lynnville High School in Indiana. He served 29 years in the US Marines. His occupation was working for the forestry department. He is an avid hunter and fisherman. He has taught the hunters’ safety course for over 35 years. He is a World Champion Skeet Shooter.
In his spare time, he likes to play cards, poker, garden and watch Gunsmoke on Television. Stop by and enjoy getting to know this wonderful gentleman.
Resident Spotlight: The Glynns
Mr. & Mrs. Glynn met at a party while he is was stationed in the US Army (Fort Wolter, TX). Peter was born in Massachusetts, raised in Rhode Island. Betty was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX. They have been married 58 years and have two children, one grandson and two great grandchildren that they are so found of.
After his term in the Army, Peter got a job working for the Navy in Northern VA and retired after 30 plus years; they raised their children in Dumfries and later moved to Madison County. Betty moved to Dogwood Village in May of 2023. She enjoyed it so much she had her husband join her in July.
They both enjoy being around people, attending socials, Catholic mass and making new friends at Dogwood Village.
