The Foundation
Dogwood Village is about people taking care of people and offering resources to improve or maintain the quality of life of each resident. One of the most valuable resources we offer is a comfortable and safe environment that allows residents to enjoy the comforts of home with the reassurance and assistance of staff.

Our foundation has supported many projects throughout the years to include new shower rooms, a healing garden, a facility bus, room renovations and raised flower beds. We are currently assisting employees who are interested in pursuing educational opportunities as LPNs and RNs through nursing scholarships. If you are interested in contributing to this endeavor, please contact Patricia Talley at 540-672-1830.

“My dad, Calvin J. Gingrich, a World War II and Korea War Veteran, was cared for at Dogwood Village until his final hospitalization. During his nearly three months at Dogwood Village, the professional staff fantastically and empathetically provided the best medical treatment and the right physical therapy for his condition. The nursing staff met his limited mobility (nearly bedridden) and personal care needs with respect, dignity and compassion. The activities staff worked tireless to include him. Everyone made this member of the “Greatest Generation” feel that he was part of the Dogwood family. Dad said he never wanted to be in a facility, but after just a few days, he asked me to ensure that he stayed because as he said, “everyone here is so compassionate, helpful and caring, this is the place I need to be to get the care I require”. Dad wanted to do something for all those who looked after him. The donation to Dogwood Village is dad’s way of saying “thank you” to the staff for all they did to make his last days the best they could be.”
